Katarína Poliačiková Slovak artist’s presentation and open studio exhibition

The Studio Gallery cordially invites you to Katarína Poliačiková’s (Slovenian artist) presentation and exhibition, held in her studio.

Katarína Poliačiková (1982) graduated from the Bratislava Academy of Fine Arts, and currently a doctorate student there. In 2009, she was the nominate of  ESSL AWARD CCE.  She focuses on collective and personal memory, originality, pretence and appropriation in her works.  Her pursuit is determined by the appropriation and deconstruction of other artists’ works, their postmodern critical approach, and visualization of personal past’s memories and the repetition for therapeutic reasons – these are all regular elements in her works.

Her presentation consists of her past works, her opinion yet of Budapest residency, and the current Slovakian art scene. During the evening, visitors are able to look into her freshly made catalogue, and visit her exhibition in her studio.

Katarína Poliačiková is staying in Budapest for 3 months with the support of the International Visegrád Fund Artists-is-Residency program.
